AirAsia Airport Baggage

We recommend that you pack your belongings with the following requirements in mind:

  1. Weight Limit: Maximum 32kg / 70lbs each individual bag
  2. Dimension Limit: Maximum 119cm x 119cm x 81cm or within 126in / 319cm dimension for each individual bag.
  3. Quantity Limit: Bring as many bags as you like, as long as they have a combined weight within your purchased allowance.

Remember, it’s always cheapest to pre-book your checked baggage. Do check your booking as checked baggage allowance may already be included in your bundle pack.


AirAsia Airport Baggage

If you didn’t pre-book your baggage, you can still purchase at the airport on the day of departure but will be limited only to 15kg checked baggage allowance per guest / per way and will be charged according to the prevailing airport baggage fee.

Additional weight in excess will be subjected to the prevailing excess baggage fee on per kg basis.


AirAsia Excess Baggage

If you pre-booked your baggage online but checked-in with heavier baggage, you will also be charged for each additional kg. The excess baggage fee varies depending on the airport from which you depart.

Excess baggage can only be paid upon check-in at the airport on the day of departure.  In the event of a connecting flight, the Excess Baggage fee will be charged per guest /per kg /per way.

If you are planning to travel with excess baggage, we suggest you arrive at the airport at least two (2) hours prior to your scheduled time of departure.


AirAsia Prohibited items in checked baggage

There are items that you cannot carry in your checked baggage. Make sure that the contents in your baggage comply with the AirAsia prohibited items guide.

Some countries may impose additional prohibitions or restrictions on the carriage of specific items, please ensure that you comply with the applicable prohibitions or restrictions.


AirAsia Excess, Overweight, Oversize Baggage Fees

If you have more bags than the permitted allowance or your bags exceed the weight or linear restrictions, you will be charged additional fees. Contact AirAsia directly for more information. Fees are in local currency.
