JetBlue Carry On Size, Limits & Restrictions Guide [2021]

Are you finally going on that much-needed family vacation? Yay! Let’s look at everything you should know before you start packing, so you don’t have to remove your beach accessories from your bag at the last minute on Jet Blue Airlines to avoid problems at check-in!

Let’s start with Jet Blue Carry on bags

Sizing and Weight

You are allowed to take one personal item. For example, a purse, a pet carrier, or a laptop bag can be your personal item, and it must measure less than 17 x 13 x 8 inches.

You can also take one carry-on bag as part of your carry-on allowance, unless you are traveling with a Blue Basic fare. This bag must fit in the overhead bin and have maximum dimensions of 22 x 14 x 9 inches. However, on international flights, the overhead bin space is allotted on a first-come first-serve basis, which means that if you are boarding in a later group, you may not be able to take your carry-on bag into the cabin. JetBlue offers $25 credit on JetBlue for a year, for customers who lose their overhead space in this case.

There are no weight restrictions for carry-on baggage as of now, but JetBlue policies state that you should be able to place them in the overhead compartment by yourself.

Jet Blue Excess baggage fees

As the Blue Basic category doesn’t allow a carry-on, you will have to pay an excess baggage fee if you need to check-in at the gate. Your 1st bag and 2nd bag will be charged a fee of $65. Should you need additional bags, it will cost $180 to check one.
